Animation-wise, all the frames are there. The new stuff in the game is rather interesting to find and look at. Original Translation Worked on some early translation and text hacking in 2004 — 2005. If you, for whatever reason, do not like this you can easily swap back the original narration Track03 after it is done patching. It's a game worth playing, if you ask me.
They were pretty cool arrangements except Beginning, not a big fan of jazz music. The only good part about this port is the boss fight with Maria and the theme playing during the battle. The eye-pleasing transparencies seen in the PlayStation version have now been replaced by the infamous Saturn screens, and there is a fair amount of slowdown at the strangest possible places - usually when there is only one enemy onscreen. I think it's cool how the Saturn team went sorta outta there way to make a new outfit for Richter. A lot of graphical errors I did not include, for most of it is the system's fault, not the game such as transparency effects. The music is also top notch with familiar tunes remixed well and some great new music too. This isn't too big a problem.
The Right -Adding in Maria as a playable character. Those of you familiar with the PlayStation version know that after you beat the game you could then play as Richter via a code. As far as Maria is concerned, she is exclusive to this version, although her inclusion seems more slapped on at the last minute than anything else. The levels are split into various sections and end with a boss fight. Comment Dracula X is an action platform game of the highest quality. Overall, though, the Saturn version is quite well done.
Surely the Saturn could have found a way around these slight gaffes? Anyway, for those of you looking for the brighter side of things, this is what the Saturn version has exclusively. However the credits have not made it into this release of the patch if ever so in order to compensate for this inconvenience we have included the translation for the credits in the readme. I love everything about this game, the controls are precise, but more than anything it's just enjoyable.
It might be a tad confusing for people who were familiar with her in the original game. You make your way into Dracula's castle armed only with your whip - but along the way you can pick up secondary weapons, such as throwing axes, daggers and time-stop watches. Adding in this new boss fight was pretty cool. Aside from that, most additions feel rather stupid and not consistent with the rest of the castle, resulting amateurish and dull. The game was in Japanese, so I didn't exactly know what they did. You won't miss a thing.
If you've played the original SotN but not the Saturn version, you should go for it. And they were rather cool ideas. The visuals are superb throughout with some great parallax scrolling, huge sprites and atmospheric design. This made the game more interesting, although her moveset is a little more questionable.
